i'm not sure wether it's because i've got handbrake running in the foreground most of the time, but if i leave podner doing a big batch it just crashes constantly. it looks like its working, but it never makes any headway. i can leave it there for hours and it won't even finish the first one. used to work great, now it doesn't even finish one. used to tell me something about the movie's done but it couldn't move it, now it never even finishes the first one on the list. just gets stuck. tells me there's, like, 2 minutes remaining, always.

grr.

i'm mostly upset because i never usually pay for software. but i actually paid for podner. and its not working anymore. and now i have to bum money from friends just to get drunk.

Is it possible you're using Podner 1.2.1? We introduced a bug there that can cause a process to stall permanently at 90%. It will only manifest if the audio track in the movie begins after the first frame of video, which is somewhat rare, but could be what's happening in your case. The easy way to tell if this applies there is to open /Applications/Utilities/Console.app, filter for "Podner" and search for any mention of QTMovieUneditableException. Do you see any of those?

Strange that Console would be empty. Yet, the progress bar is at 90% so it's very likely the same issue that we've already fixed in the next release.

Podner 1.2.1 is the most recent public version. Would you like to try the latest build of Podner 1.2.2 to confirm it resolves the issue there? Let us know and we'll send you a link privately.
