Post subject:  Won't encode QT .MOV files

Hi,

I drop a QT .mov file onto Ponder and it shows and plays in the Podner window. When i click continue to encode a drop down window flashes in half a second and roll back up. Nothing happen! I have QT 7.0.3 and Tiger 10.4.2. The test clip is only 57 seconds long. Any idea what went wrong? thanks CKINYC

One possibility is that your source file is protected by digital rights management. Podner will open these files, but like QuickTime Player it is not allowed to export them. We should have foreseen this and provided some feedback in an alert or dialog sheet. That will be part of Podner 1.0.1, which we expect to release very soon.

If you obtained your source file for a fee, or if it contains a commercial property, like a movie trailer, it's probably protected. If you have QuickTime Pro, you can verify the source file is protected with QuickTime Player by opening it and looking at the File menu. QuickTime Player will disable the Export option, or, in some cases, the Export option is enabled, but you will receive an error if you try to export.
