Post subject:  Protected AAC Audio File?

I just tried Audiobook Builder for the first time. I used a CD-ripped AAC file, and the output says it's a "Protected AAC Audio File." Is this normal? It seems to play correctly.

The "Protected" description is just the way Apple describes M4B files in the Finder and iTunes. That's probably because the iTunes Store used to be the only source for M4B files and they always came with content protected by Apple's FairPlay digital rights management scheme. There's no way around that description showing up for Audiobook Builder's M4B output but its content isn't protected in any way and can be played and copied at will.

Thanks. That's what I expected, but just wanted to hear.

Addendum: Just looked at the FAQ again. Sorry. I looked before, but I guess I didn't look well enough.
