I recently downloaded the newest version 1.0.11 and tried creating a new audiobook. I go to Import CD and it rips the cd and then when its done, it crashes. I then went back to version 1.0.8 and now its crashing with this version too. I used Appcleaner to completely uninstall each version and then reinstall, but nothing works. Please help. |

Can you go through the steps to get Audiobook Builder to crash, then send the following to support@splasm.com ? 1. A System Profiler report. You can create one of these reports by launching /Applications/Utilities/System Profiler.app and selecting "Save" from the File menu. 2. Your latest Audiobook Builder crash log(s). Go to /Users/[your username here]/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/ . In Mac OS X 10.5 or later you will see a series of files with names that begin "Audiobook Builder". Send us the most recent of these files. In Mac OS X 10.4.11 or earlier you will see a single file named "Audiobook Builder.crash.log". Send us that file. Thanks! |

keithg, not only am I not able to make new audiobooks, I am also unable to open older audiobooks that I created with ABB version 1.0.8. Here are the steps: 1) Go to Create New Project. 2) Drag picture over to the main window. (Also tried it without cover art) 3) Go to Chapters. 4) Put 1st CD in and Itunes opens. 5) Hit Import CD. 6) It imports the whole CD and then instead of going back to ABB, it crashes. Also, I have sent the 2 files you asked for. Thanks. |

Thanks for sending the files! I looked over the crash log and found that it's for Audiobook Builder 1.0.8, and the code that's crashing was fixed in a later release of Audiobook Builder. Can you get 1.0.11 to crash and send us the same two files? |

What I do not understand is that why did version 1.0.8 work fine before and now it doesn't work? If the code was fine before and it worked, why does it not work now? |

Apple introduced a change in the QTKit framework included with QuickTime 7.5 that led to this particular crashing situation. It was a bug in previous versions of Audiobook Builder after all - it just didn't manifest as a crash before QuickTime 7.5 because of the way the earlier QuickTime handled some periodic tasks. |
