| Post subject: | Tax-deductible categories |
I just purchased Checkbook Pro and have imported 19 years of Quicken data! (I used Quicken when it was called "On Balance"!) I have noticed that the hundreds of previous entries in the tax-deductible categories from Quicken do not have the little tax-deductible box checked in the Checkbook Pro register. Have I done something wrong in the import process? Is there some way to designate tax-deductible cateories within Checkbook Pro? One of my main uses of Quicken has been in preparing my taxes, so this is an important issue for me. I did notice that one of my new entries within Checkbook Pro does have the tax-deductible box checked. Will I have to manually check this box in all the 2011 entries to get an accurate summary at the end of the year? Can you help? |

You didn't do anything wrong during the import - it's just that CheckBook Pro's Categories can't be designated as tax-deductible. We're planning to take a look at working that into a future release. For now, it's necessary to tick the Tax-Deductible checkbox for each tax-deductible Entry. You can do this for all tax-deductible Entries at once if you select them all - hold down the Command key on your keyboard and click on an Entry to add it to your selection, then go to the Entry menu at the top of your screen and select Mark->As Tax-Deductible. |
