I'm trying to export 2 closed accounts from CB Pro for ARCHIVING (I currently have 5 accounts). I go to File>Export QIF. When I later import this file it asks me which of my FIVE accounts that I want to import in a new session of CB Pro. Is there a way to export only the 2 accounts I want to archive as QIF file(s) and NOT all of my accounts? |

You can export one of your accounts, all of your accounts, or your current filter results. You can select which you want under the 'Export:' popup menu in the Export QIF window. You will have to export each of your two accounts individually for a total of 2 QIF files if you don't want all of your accounts in the single QIF. |

Randy, I've done what you said in your reply. I tested it out: I exported one of my accounts (to my desktop) then reimported it. Everything was imported EXCEPT the data in the "TYPE" field. All data under "TYPE" was blank! Any suggestions as to what happened, or did I do something wrong? DICK |

Types will not carry over because the QIF format has no place to store types. If you want to archive all of your data as you see it, you will want to export your data to text, and import text back in. Exported text will open fine in spreadsheet applications such as Excel. I hope that helps! |
