2 issues. When I start up Checkbook, the register appears with no data and it takes up to 5 seconds, sometimes longer for the data to appear, a minor issue. The bigger issue is that sometimes the data will all of a sudden disappear from the register, and to get it back I have to switch to another account and back. I have an iMac running OS Lion. Got a solution? Thanks! Mike |

Hi Mike, Both of the issues you're describing seem to have something to do with the loading of your Entry data in the register interface, with the first being a slow load and the other being some sort of interruption. No matter what's going on, you can rest assured that the data shouldn't actually be in danger of disappearing. Now, to help get things running smoothly again, we'll need to gather some additional info. First off, what version of CheckBook are you using? To find out, choose 'About CheckBook...' from the CheckBook menu at the top of the screen. If it's a version number below 2.5.4, you might considering updating to see if that helps. If updating doesn't do the trick, we'll direct you to some reports/logs that would need to be emailed as they'll tell us the process(es) that are hanging-up, but we'll get to that. Thanks! |

Since you're on the latest, we'll want to gather some additional information about what's going on there. Would be willing to send the following in an email to us at support@splasm.com ? 1. A System Information report. This report tells us how your Mac is configured. You can create one of these reports by clicking the Finder icon in your Dock, going to the Go menu at the top of your screen, clicking the Utilities menu item, opening System Information.app, then going to the File menu and clicking the Save... menu item. 2. Your recent system.log files. These files contain routine status messages from apps, but they also contain any error messages these apps may have logged, in addition to any error messages the Mac itself may have logged. We need to see these to get an accurate picture of when the app started to misbehave and to possibly explain why. You can find these by clicking the Finder icon in your Dock, going to the Go menu at the top of your screen, clicking the Go to Folder... menu item, then going to the /var/log folder. Send every file whose name begins with the word "system". Thanks! |
