I'm new and just now adding accounts. Added one account successfully and it's up and running. Added another account and all the information only to find that the Name of the account was the first account name, colon, then the new account name. How do I change that? Looks like: Account ABCD: Account EFGH Help! |

Select the account you want to change, then (on the top) Account > Edit Account, type in new name. |

Hi. When I create a new account, the default name is "2014 CB Backup: New Name." I have gone to Account: edit: rename, but the new name appears with the "2014 CB Backup" before it still. How can I change this? Thanks |

You appear to be trying to change a backup and not the account. Open Checkbook and change the account that opens.

Yes, I have done that. On the list of accounts, the name is correct. For example: "Account 11" When I go to Edit account: It says "Account 11. But when I open it, the name appears "2014 CB Backup: Account 11" Every new account I create has this "2014 CB Backup" Not a huge thing, but I would like it to say 2015. Thanks |

The name preceding the colon at the top of the window is the name of the Accounts file that's open. To change the name of an Accounts file, you'll want to navigate to where it's saved on your Mac (the save location would've been selected when the file was created originally), select it, hit the Return key, and then type the new name over the highlighted old name. If you're not sure where your Accounts file is saved presently, the easiest thing to do would be to choose 'Move To...' from the File menu at the top of the screen and select a new, more accessible save location, like the Documents folder. |
