Hi, I've been using CheckBook Pro for quite some time now but to be honest only as a secondary system to using my Windows PC with an old version of Quicken. Well I have finally decided to cut the Windows cord and use CheckBook Pro (CBP) solely now. Unfortunately in using both systems side by side I have never actually reconciled all of the CBP accounts. So my question is this. How do I reconcile existing accounts that I am happy with if the button to reconcile is greyed out. I am happy to take responsibility for them being accurate and up to date. I just want the reconcile button to be available the next time I do my accounts. Any help greatly appreciated. Radar |

To Reconcile an Account in CheckBook Pro, it's necessary for the Statement Balance to match the Resolved Balance exactly. The Statement Balance normally gets typed-in each Reconciliation and should be the final balance off the statement you're Reconciling-to and the Resolved Balance is the total of everything checked-off as Resolved. Ideally, these would match because everything's been entered-in properly and checked-off in comparison to what appears on actual statements, but it's possible to simply checkoff everything and then type what shows in the Resolved Balance bubble into the Statement Balance field above it to Reconcile in one fell swoop without having to sort through everything. |

Many thanks for this. Once I get the next set of statements and work through those I'll use this to get things where I want them to be. Keep up the good work. |

Hello again. Its reconciliation time! I have tried without success to reconcile using the recommendation above. I am able to mark all the entries from the statement as resolved after putting the statement balance into the relevant field. The Statement Balance field and the Resolved Balance field then match but unlike other accounts that I can reconcile the Unreconciled field isn't 0. It is exactly twice the Statement Balance and changes if you change the statement balance. The Reconcile key remains greyed out and unusable. The only thing I have noticed is that the 4 accounts I can reconcile are bank accounts and the 3 I can't are credit cards. Is there a difference that I am missing here? Any help appreciated. Radar. |

What shows in the Unreconciled field is always the difference between the Statement Balance and the Resolved Balance and so will only be zero when those match exactly. Perhaps be sure that, for the credit card accounts, that a negative ending Balance that reflects what's owed on the card is used for the Statement Balance. |
