Match account headers with downloaded headers Account headers: Date Check Type Description To/From Catagory Notes Amount Download headers listed in column: Memo Names Payees Ref # Transaction Types Each of these fields can be renamed by drop-down to one of the following: Catagory Check# Description Notes To/From Types How to import a downloaded file filling the account with data arranged to account headings ? My imported data either shows no data under a header or the data has switched columns ( ie: Description column shows To/From data ) CB Pro version 2.7.29 (1233) Thanks ! Rob Glass |

If you're dealing with a tab-delimited Text or CSV file, you can click the menu buttons labeled "Data Layout", then choose the option that corresponds most closely to the data in the column below, then everything should import properly. To see this process in action, check out the video tutorial we have on our YouTube channel here (starting at about 30 seconds in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfsJjAic3-A With something like OFX, QFX, QIF, or QMTF, things are a bit easier: there are individual menu buttons, one for each standardized field. So, just as an example, you'd click the menu button labeled "Import Payees as" and select the To/From Items option. Or, in the event, the Memo field in your file holds the real To/From Item names, set it to Import Memos as To/From Items. Should issues persist, feel free to shoot a message with your file attached to it over to us at support@splasm.com. Then, we'll be able to tell you the exact Import Options to use, in order to get the file imported perfectly. |

Dear Allan, I've unsuccessfully tried importing OFX/QFX files from Chase Bank for the last several days. I have failed to import Description and Catagory items despite adjusting item contents in the Memos, Names, Payees, Reference #, and Types. This evening, I tried a .csv download. The Data Layout row has only two columns. How to add columns for Date, Check#, Type, Description, To/From, Catagory, and Amount ? With seven available columns, selecting an appropriate column header must be simpler than the Whack-A-Mole game I've played these last few days. Thanks ! Rob Glass CB Pro 3.0.3 OSX 15.7.9 |

The OFX/QFX situation could be due to a formatting issue. Would you be open to sending an actual QFX file you can't seem to import over to us in an email to support@splasm.com? Or, you’re always welcome to send a file saved in just the same way but containing only one or two transactions. As for CSV, you should only see two columns in cases where the file itself only contains two columns, or when the format/encoding selections are mismatched. So, have you checked the raw data, like by opening the CSV in Numbers or a similar spreadsheet program? Or, if more than two columns are definitely in there, you might double-check that you have the CSV (Comma-separated values) option applied instead of Tab-delimited text on the first window that comes up as soon as you select the Import > Text or CSV menu option. Also, confirm you have the correct Text encoding option applied, within the same window.
