I'm moving to Checkbook Pro from Banktivity. So far, so good. But I've had an issue adding addresses. I've been adding addresses manually (more later). I get to the Manage Addresses dialog and click the + button and New Address with an existing addressee highlighted when I intended to add a new addressee. If I then hit the delete button immediately, expecting to delete the new blank address, the behavior yields unexpected results. Sometimes, the program crashes. One time it deleted the addressee from a different entry (a restart of the program seemed to fix this issue).

The reason I'm adding addresses manually is that there doesn't seem to be a way to import addresses only from a specific contact list. Banktivity uses Mac Contacts for addresses, and I have my banking address in a specific contact list. I don't really want to navigate addresses for my other hundreds of contacts, so I'm not importing address from Contacts.

That's an unusual issue and one we can't seem to replicate here. So, getting a look at crash reports and recent CheckBook Pro log messages could be crucial in our quest to figure out what’s going on there. Would you mind gathering those up and sending them over to us in an email addressed to support@splasm.com?

To gather your recent log messages

Click the Finder icon on your Dock, go to the Go menu at the top of your screen and click the Utilities menu item, double-click the Terminal icon, and copy and paste the following command:

log show --info --debug --predicate 'process contains[c] "checkbook"' --last 30d |gzip > ~/Desktop/Splasm.log.gzip; open -R ~/Desktop/Splasm.log.gzip

Press the Return key on your keyboard and wait, usually less than a minute, until a file named Splasm.log.gzip is highlighted on the Desktop for you. Attach Splasm.log.gzip to your reply to this message. You can drag Splasm.log.gzip to the Trash after the message has been sent.

To gather your CheckBook Pro crash logs

Click the Finder icon on your Dock, go to the Go menu at the top of your screen and click the Utilities menu item, double-click the Console icon, click the Crash Reports item on the left side of the window, then drag each item whose name begins with “CheckBook” to your message.

We sure appreciate you working with us on this one!
