I may have asked they before, but...
is there a way to populate the date in a duplicate entry to the current date?
It seems foolish to have to manually change the date every time you duplicate an entry.

Unfortunately, no, duplicating something preserves each field. But, if you have things setup to select the Date field first, you can use the Duplicate Entry option, then simply hit the letter T key on your keyboard, to quickly set the date to the current date (or, shift focus to the Date field, then hit T).
