Post subject:  CheckBook to CheckBook Pro?

Hello,

Last year I graduated from CheckBook to CheckBook Pro. For whatever reason, during one of my monthly finance updates, I opened the old CheckBook instead of the new CheckBook Pro. I've been putting entries in the wrong program for nearly a year. Now it's tax time, and I need the "All Accounts" feature desperately.

Is there a simple way to migrate just that year's worth of data into my various accounts (Savings, Checking, Credit Cards, etc.)?

Thanks.

If no one responds here, email support--they are extremely helpful and I'm pretty certain you can do that.

We just responded with the following to your email asking the same question, but figured it'd be good to also post it here so anyone else coming here with the same question has access to the information:

Both CheckBook and CheckBook Pro use the same document file format, so you can actually just copy/paste entries between the two. Simply open CheckBook, select what you want to copy, then go up to click the Edit menu and select the Copy menu option. After that, switch to the Pro version, click once inside the main register view, then head back to the Edit menu and select the Paste option.

Should he then delete the old version of Checkbook? I think I did after the upgrade to Pro because then I knew I would not mix them up.

Yes, deleting CheckBook in the end would indeed be wise. That'll help ensure a similar mixup doesn't happen again, going forward. Dragging the app from wherever it's installed to the Trash ought to do it!
