I'm trying to convert a mov file to mp4 using podner. The mov file is 640 x 480, but the largest size Podner will let me select under the custom settings is only half that sizes. All the sizes 640 x 480 and up are greyed out and can't be selected.

Anybody know what's going on?

Craig:

I apologize for not responding sooner.

When we received your email yesterday we set about trying to duplicate the issue, fell into an unrelated issue with an old preferences file on a test machine and completely dropped the ball on taking care of you. We think the most likely explanation on your end is that when you first select Custom Podner will present settings that are preset with MP4 (ISMA) as the File Format, which limits the user to a resolution of 352x288 and lower. If you set the File Format at the top of the window to just MP4 does Podner still limit your choices to everything lower than 640x480?

Yes, it's still limited even with regular mp4 selected.

This is pretty puzzling. We aren't setting any limitations going into that dialog window. It's managed by QuickTime, and we supply a movie for it to work with. If you try with another file are all of the other resolutions available?

If this is only happening with one file, we would like to take a look at two things: your current Podner preferences file, which should help us duplicate the issue here, and the movie file that it's occurring with.

If this happens with all files, we would still like to see your Podner preferences file so we can test with it here.

The preferences file is located at /Users/[your username here]/Library/Preferences/com.splasm.podner.plist.

If sending the file is necessary and it's fairly large, you could use http://www.yousendit.com for free. Please address the file to support@splasm.com.

Thanks Craig.
