Yesterday I upgraded to 10.8.2 and now cannot make any entries in one checking account, and a number of entries are missing. Is there any known problems with this update?

I have a recurring transfer entry each month. The January entry is displaying but all of the transfer entries for Feb thru Oct are missing. Also I cannot make any new entries to the account. The entry template displays and will accept data but just disappears when OK is clicked.

Also the balance at the bottom of the Entry screen is not the same as the balance in the balance column.

I've been running fine on 10.8.2

Have you checked to make sure your QuickFilter options are set right? This would cause some entries to not display and would also cause new entries to not display based on the QuickFilter parameters.

Also, be sure that your copy of CheckBook or CheckBook Pro is fully updated—only the latest version of the application, 2.3.2, is fully compatible with Mountain Lion.

To update a copy purchased from our site, choose 'Check For Updates...' from the File menu at the top of the screen. For a Mac App Store version, log into the App store, and click the Updates button at the top of the window.

My QuickFilter settings are OK. I use the same settings in 5 checking accounts, but only one is having the problems that I described above.

My CBP version is 2.3.2

Since it's not a QuickFilter, perhaps also make sure you're not in a Smart Folder or that the sorting options aren't making it hard to locate the Entries—even newly created Entries may be getting submitted, but ending up in an unexpected spot in the overall list. To sort by Date, click the Date column header.

If that doesn't do it, it could be an anomaly that's unique to the data in that one Account. We definitely want to look into this further, but that would require that we setup the same situation here using your same data so that we can replicate the issue and watch what happens behind-the-scenes as it occurs. Any chance you'd be willing to send a backup data file to us via email?

If so, choose 'Backup Accounts...' from the File menu, save the backup to someplace accessible, and attach it to an email to support@splasm.com.

Also, seeing a System Information report created just after the issue occurs wherein new Entries can't be added would be helpful. For that, try to add a new Entry, exit CheckBook Pro, launch System Information.app from inside the Applications > Utilities folder, and then use the Save option under the File menu. Then, attach the resulting file to an email.

Thanks!

Thanks Allan. Everything is now working as it should.

For anyone reading this, I sent Allan the info he asked for in the previous post. Very quickly he sent me an email explaining what the problem was and it's solution. Life is good again.

I want you to know there was nothing wrong with CBP. The problem was between my chair and the keyboard.
